It deeply etched/pitted/damaged the surface of the sample bar. If you find yourself in need of blackeing brass and dont have any brass black on hand, you can substitute gun bluing. WebOct 5, 2024 · Oxpho works a little differently on different alloys. Sometimes it works like magic, other times like a curse. It's one of the few cold blues that seems to work predictably when the work is preheated. Working it in gently with degreased 4-ought steel wool is usually a big win. But in general, I think cold blue is best left alone.
